Review by DXie
"This game gives you eternal happiness..."
STORY
Well, story is ordinary. It is the sequel of Lunar: Silver Star Complete. The story of Lunar and Lunar 2 somehow link so if you have played the first lunar, then you will understand the story better. Hiro, the main character of the game and his pal, Ruby are digging for treasure. The treasure lead them into a path that they must keep on going through it. Hiro meets many friends on the way as well as recruit new characters. As the game progress, you wll find out that Ruby is actually a ... Well, i will have to stop here.

GAMEPLAY
Controls are similar to Lunar but there are still new features. You will get used to the controls very fast. Lunar 2 is truely a classic RPG. You'll get to explore complicated dungeons and solve mind-cracking puzzles. You can even see the monsters in the dungeons, meaning that you can avoid them. Unlike other RPGs where you just need to hold down a button and you will be able to run non-stop, Lunar 2 has a better running system. You will only get to run for a short distance. Think of it as stamina. After 1 or 2 seconds, you can run again. So if you think that you can run all the way through the dungeon avoiding all monsters, then you are wrong. To escape from them, you will have to use intelligence and tactics. Most monsters have weakness. Some are slow, some dash for a while and stop, creating a chance for you to run past them. Bosses and monsters in lunar 2 are tough and they really test your role playing ability. Monsters difficulty can easily be overcome by leveling up more but bosses can never be made easier by leveling up. To beat the boss, you will need planning and strategy. Treasure chests are scattered all over the dungeon so you will really have to try out every path to find all treasures in the dungeon. Towns are also carefully designed. There are more equipments and items in Lunar 2 than Lunar.

AUDIO
In the Lunar series, their main attraction is their fantastic voice acting. This is a feature that most RPG doesn't have and the voice acting feature is done very well in Lunar 2. Sound effects of the game are also vey good. They fit perfectly well with the circumstances. Music is also done very well in Lunar 2. They blended so well with the surrounding that you thought the music was not there. Audio is definitely one of the strong points.
Score: 9/10
Video
There are lots of cinematics thrown into the game. Just the opening intro is enough to get you stunned for hours. Most of the cinematics are short to save your time. Video is also one of the strong points of the game.
Score: 9/10
GRAPHICS
Well, graphics during gameplay is not so fantastic. Oh..how should i phrase it? The graphics is definitely not the best in this gaming world and with current technology, graphics can be made a lot more better than Lunar 2's graphics. Due to Playstation's limited capability, extremely cool graphics often lead to long loading so the 'not-so-good' graphics of Lunar 2 may be a good thing. Battles and everything load really fast, thanks to its only bad point, the graphics.
Score: 6/10
REPLAYABILITY
This game is not worth replaying and it is the same for every RPG. Since there is little secrets and side quests in the game, so you sohuldn't have missed out too many important items in the first play. The choice of replaying is up to you, i am not discouraging you or threating you in any way.
Score: 2/10
BUY/RENT
You must definitely buy this game. You will never regret it. Trust me and you will be a happy human.
