Mega Man 8 Anniversary Edition

Game Play-7/10

The game play in Mega Man 8 is much worse that mega man 7. The game is much harder. The bosses are much less imaginitive. But, after 8 games, I would think you would start running out of ideas, obviously. Rush has many new forms in this game, which is cool. I have always enjoyed Rush's help.

Graphics-8/10

The graphics in Mega Man 8 are quite beautiful and fluid. The stages are not imaginitive though. One of my friends told me that the graphics in Mega Man 8 look exactly like the graphics in a Japanese-only Mega Man game, which discouraged my faith in Capcom even more.

Audio-6/10

I think that Capcom just stopped trying with the music. Mega Man 8's music is officially the worst Mega Man music ever. (Yes, even worse than the music in Mega Man II on the game boy) The sound effects have not changed. That little fact right there is really making me mad. Hopefully they will have changed when Mega Man 9 comes out for Playstation 2 or Sega Dreamcast. One really bad thing about the audio in Mega Man 8 is the horrible voice acting. It is just too Japanese for me.

Control-8/10

The control in Mega Man 8 is great, except in Clown Man's stage and Frost Man's stage. I literally broke a controller in Frost Man's stage because I was so frustrated. Luckily for me, It was one of those old Playstation controllers.

Fun Factor-7/10

It's a law. Mega Man just has to be fun. But, I am kind of stretching it for Mega Man 8. If you like the same game over and over and over again, then you will like Mega Man 8.

Replay-7/10

I cannot believe that there are only like twenty bolts in Mega Man 8. That is a real downer. The game is really hard also. I am sure anyone who has played Mega Man 8 will agree with me.

Overall-7/10

If you are a fan of the Mega Man games, than okay, get Mega Man 8, otherwise, walk away. If you want Mega Man 8 for Saturn, get Playstation version instead. Save your twenty bucks for something useful, like Syphon Filter or Metal Gear Solid. Just something you will be happy with. Or better yet, wait for Mega Man X5. I will get Mega Man X5 the day it comes out at Best Buy.
