"Marvelous! A incredible work of RPG art!"

My first PSX Playstation RPG! I got PSX years ago and this was the first PSX RPG I played on PSX! Its a one disk game and the box is the size for a two disk game...weird maybe they wanted to put the instruction book there instead of using is as a cover.

Story

God was frightened that humans will extinct because they are so weak so he created the 'Seru' to guide humans. Seru was jewel-type beings worn by humans to increase their strength. All was well until one day a strange mist appeared and drove the Seru mad. The Seru rebelled against humans, those whom wear humans become one with the Seru and into a monster. The whole journey begins when a boy named Vahn meets a Ra-Seru from the Genesis Tree that protects his village.
Score: 7/10

Character Development

Out of all three members who join your party, Noa is the best of them. The 'main' character, Vahn is probably meant to be 'you'. But he practically doesn't say ANYthing unless you choose a two option choice for him to speak like in Zelda. Noa is a cute and spunky girl whom was raised by a wolf attached to a Ra-Seru. She knows nothing of the outside world because she hid from the mist with Terra, the wolf in a snow cavern for her whole life. Gala is a monk whom hates the Seru for stealing the life of his two parents. The mascot of this game is..I guess the Seru.
Score: 6/10

Music

The music is good enough for an RPG like Legend of Legaia. There are some beautiful tunes to it. The last battle music is real good though. The most beautiful music in this game is when something dramatic happens. ^_^
Score: 6/10

Gameplay/Battle

The gameplay is also good enough for an RPG like Legend of Legaia. There are some hilarious scenes, some sad, and some pretty shocking. The battles are amazing but VERY long. You use your Ra-Seru to 'absorb' another Seru with an element icon. Some are useless but some kick @$$! There are two VeRy interesting things about the battle. One is that all of the party members use martial arts. Weapons only increase the attack or you can just press arm arm arm to use it. The martial arts are use in arrow forms like Up Down Left, etc. To learn new deathblows you just combine a lot of Up and Down to learn more. Sometimes you have to wait until your AP Gauge gets longer in accordance to your level to learn new deathblows. Only some deathblows can be learned ONLY by books. Another VeRy interesting thing about battles are equipment. You know in RPG's you buy new armor or weapons for a better attack or defense right? Well in this game there is head wear, foot wear, body, and sometimes weapon. Everytime you buy one, in battle you can SEE what you equipped and is looks GOOoooooD!!! If you equip a certain head gear, you see it in battle, you equip new armor, you see that too!! Oh! I left out another in this game that in battle there is also voice acting! But it wasn't dubbed. Well most of them are spoken in English but with a Japanes 'toungue' to it. But sounds REAL keWl! Its like hyah! teh! and stuff!
Score: 8/10

Graphics

The graphics are real beautiful! Scenery in this game is sooooooo pretty! And in anime style! Its kinda polygonal of triangles but thats expected! Villages and Towns look beautiful because of the graphics! CG are also used in this game but rarely. But its not like a CG scene like Final Fantasy when everyone is hanging around...if you know what I mean.
Score: 8/10

Legend of Legaia gives you a legend kind of feeling though the game. You want a game with cool martial arts moves, legend-y story, and stunning graphics look no further! Legaia is the game for you!!! ^_^;
