"This game is barely worth a rental."

Resident Evil Survivor is a very mediocre game that I personally don't think is worth even a rental unless you have some kind of rent one get one free coupon. If you were planning on trying this game out you should probably borrow it from your friend who was stupid enough to purchase it.

Game play: This game does have fairly decent game play but has a few problems. For one, its incredibly short and easy. I beat the game in 2 hours with a B ranking on the first day I had it. Second, the enemies are way to easy to kill and your character is way to hard for the enemies to kill. I was in a hallway being pummeled by a Tyrant into the corner and all I did was keep shooting with a handgun. The outcome was that he died after about a minute and my health was still on ''Fine''. The third problem is the controls. I don't know why but Capcom decided to move most of the controls around in this game. While you still hold square to run, and hold R1 and press X to shoot, Capcom also made triangle shoot, square the cancel button, and start the menu button. Now me and most other people are used to O being the menu button and triangle being the cancel button. You wouldn't believe how many time I accidentally used herbs pressing triangle to escape from the menu. And the one thing that just might of been able to save this game Capcom took out before the games release. The Light gun. This game would of been so much more fun if you could aim at the monsters with a gun, instead of aiming a little cursor at everyone. Why did they have to take out the Light gun compatibility? I would give game play 4/10 score.

Story line: The story line actually isn't half bad. While being nothing compared to the other Resident Evil games it is still pretty decent. The game starts with a big helicopter crash seen and you wake up with a case of amnesia. Then throughout the game you are trying to figure out who you are and how to escape, while avoiding monsters and Umbrella's clean up crew. I would give the story line a 7/10 score.

Graphics/sound: The graphics really aren't anything to marvel at. They look like graphics from a game that came out in 1997 maybe and there are absolutely no CGI cinemas. But for the most part you don't really pay much attention to the graphics because your too busy complaining about the game play and thinking ''I cant believe I actually paid to play this crap'' over and over again in your mind. Same thing pretty much goes with the sound too. A lot of the music in the game doesn't give it that classic eerie feeling as in the other games. I give the graphics/sound a 1/10 score.

Replay Value: There is a little bit of replay value in this game. But that is due to the fact that you can not go back in the game to explore rooms that you missed. The game is mostly a straight-forward path, which is one reason the game is so short. Also you can play through the game again to try and collect the weapons that you previously missed. I give replay value a 2/10 score.

Buy it or rent it?: Rent it!! If you even think about trying this game, do yourself a favor and save some money by renting it. And if you do rent it, as I said earlier, see if you have some kind of rent one get one free coupon. This game really isn't worth paying for.
