"Megaman is still alive and kickin"

After almost 3 years Megaman returns to the 2D format for the 5th game in the X series. To be honest I never thought this game would be released because of Sony being against 2D games(I also felt the same way about X4) but it looks like I was proven wrong.

Graphics
The sprites are exactly the same as the were in X4 but is that really a bad thing considering that Capcom used the exact same sprite for Megaman in his first 6 games for the NES. Even if they are the same as X4 the graphics are still good and are 2D at its best. The characters still show lots of detail and animate almost flawlessly which is not something you really expect from a 2D Playstation game.

Gameplay
X and Zero have to stop the space colony Eurassia from falling into the Earth. In order to stop the colony they have to get parts to either the laser cannon Enigma or the Space Shuttle. Depending if you let the colony fall or not your ending will change. You can still pick both Megaman and Zero but this time no matter who you chose you will have access to both characters(with minor gameplay changes though). Of course there is also the usuall stuff like getting weapons from the bosses and collecting armor parts.

Sound
The music here is as good as it was in X4. The voices are good well at least what makes up the voices. Because there are no animated cut scenes there are not too many voices. The sound is good but I won't go as far as saying it is great.

Control
The control like in all other Megaman games is top notch. Charging weapons and the like are still preformed with ease.
So in other word the control does not have any problems.

Replay
The replay value is high and because of the different endings it makes you want to play the game over to see if it is good or bad. There is also a lot of stuff to find during the game like different parts to armors and trust me it will take you while before you find almost everything.

Final Word
MegamanX5 is a good addition to someone's library of Playstation games. It is in my opinion that Megaman has never been better and as long as Capcom keeps making good games then I guess Megaman will be around for a long time.
