Final Fantasy Anthology

"Square Did It Again!! This Time It Is Even Better"
Square did it again! They made a great game even better! This no joke friends, they sure did make a great game much better.. Let me explain the many reasons
Gameplay 10/10
Both games are very fun. Yes, thats right, two games in one. It is very much worth it. Everything adds to both games in including the ''class'' system in Final Fantasy 5 and the ''Esper'' system, along with many other ''systems'' in Final Fantasy 6. Both games are rather difficult. Also, both games are pretty long, so you get much more playing time. The control scheme is pretty simple and very easy to use and get used to.
Story 10/10
Both games have very intriuging storylines.. Most notably Final Fantasy 6. Still, Final Fantasy 5 is a vast game, with a common bad guy. Final Fantasy 5 has a very mysterious story that everyone will like. There is no reason to rate the story rating lower.. If you have never played neither, then your are in for one hell of game. In my opinion, much better than Final Fantasy 7, 8, and even 9. If you have already played Final Fantasy 3 for the Super Nintendo, you are in for some big surprises because Squaresoft removed some part of the story line, ect.. Yet, since they released Final Fantasy 3 which is not really 6, but in a sense, it is, you get a better, more complete storyline. Vast improvment here from the Super Nintendo version of Final Fantasy 3.
Graphics 10/10
I'm thanking Squaresoft for not improving the graphics. I love the good ol' 2D RPGs the most. I don't care about graphics in a game, definately if the game has awesome gameplay, and this one sure does. They also added some good video to both games. 10/10 here because I don't count graphics.. which are by the way, very good for the Super Nintendo. I counted that they did add some videos.
Music/Sound 9.9/10
This is the biggest part where they messed up the game. They took out Kefka's laugh and replaced it with a terrible laugh. Anyway, the music is the same, with slight changes in the quality.. Its not quite as good, but close enough for most people. Nobuo Uematsu did an awesome job on the Final Fantasy 5 and most notably, the Final Fantasy 6 music.
Replayability 10/10
There are many many secrets in both games, which I'm not explaining in this review. When you complete any of the games, you can be sure getting up to level 99 for the heck of it, or, of course, you can get all the secrets. Sure, they are the same as in the Super Nintendo versions, but they sure do bring back some lost memories.. Have fun here!
Bottom line is, buy this game ! If you have a PlayStation 2, the loading times are not a problem. Still, if you just have a PlayStation, loading times never got on my nerves because I was stuck listening to the great music and anticipating what'd happen next in the storyline! And I must mention, that playing Final Fantasy 5 on a Super Nintendo emulator is illegal, and if you may find yourself in court one day, don't come running to me. haha.. Have fun!
