"Not bad, but not really all that great either"

Cool Boarders 2 was one of the first games I got for Playstation (this accounts for this review being written so late.) It really isn't anything really special.
GRAPHICS: 7/10
Well, the levels are nicely detailed and all, but if you look (not even all that hard) you can see white lines and stuff where things connect. Also, all slopes are composed of angles. It's kinda hard to see, but isn't really all that realistic. It doesn't really set the feel well.
The boarders look okay. You can select outfits, but most of them are hideous combos that you would be better off not seeing.
SOUND/MUSIC: 6/10
The music is a variety of rock 'n' roll songs. I don't really get into that type of stuff, but it's certainly not bad.
What I really hated was the supremely annoying voices. This super-irritating guy keeps yelling at you for stuff (like BOOO! WHAT A LOSER! when you don't do a trick or I THINK YOU'RE DOING TERRIBLE seemingly at random, or occasionally DON'T BE A WIMP!) He shouts them randomly in this irritating high-pitched voice. My parents once came down and asked, ''Could you imagine actually knowing someone like that?'' I shuddered and went to the emergency room afterward where I had such bad thoughts driven out of my head.
The crowd is stupid. They cheer or boo.
The boarders' voices are unremarkable. In fact, I really have nothing to say about them.
CONTROL: 8/10
You can do spins, flips, misties (spin-flips) and a wide variety of grabs and such. All have names (like Stale Fish and Indy Nosebone) and you can combine them for lots of points, provided you pull it off. However, sometimes the spin/flip buttons don't work, and your character just jumps and does nothing. Really annoying if you ask me.
GAMEPLAY: 7/10
Well, you snowboard down many courses, to get the highest points for speed, tricks, or both. They all have obstacles and five big jumps where you can outdo yourself with fascinating tricks. Good thing you have adamantium-alloyed steel bones, as my guy should have broken his neck badly about 300,000,000,000 times. Oh well, it's just a game.
Each boarder has their strengths and weaknesses, but if you ask me they all are really the same, some are just uglier (for the most part they are Jin with nearly all of his gaudy outfits and Irin because she's blocky and stupid and has a high-pitched voice that's almost worse than the background guy.)
Nothing more to say.
CHALLENGE: 7/10
I really don't know. You can do pretty much anything you want to at the start. I guess sometimes it's really hard and other times really easy. What's there to say?
OVERALL:7/10
This game is average, nothing more. Not bad if you want a boarding game, but not the best I ever played in my life. Fare thee well.
