"This game is awesome!!!!"

Jackie Chan:Stuntmaster is a great game! It really is a true work of art. Midway certainly did its job here. Okay, you don't want to here me rambling on about how good it is, you want to know why.

Gameplay:10!
I rented this game thinking that It was going to be rather sluggish and quite boring, but man is this where JC:S really shines. Its just so fun beating up guys with cool Jackie Chan moves. This is the best beat-em-up game I have played. I don't usually like this genre, but this is different. There are hordes of moves and special attacks, and some extremely funny weapons add to the move count and the fun. The levels are quite complex and although it is mostly side-scrolling, the environments are excellent. In the first few levels, there are docks, a ship, a kitchen, alleys, and that's just a start. Now, even though beating up enemies(a whole lot of them!) is the best part of the game, there are also several fun obstacleslike car chases and swinging crates. This just make this package even more amazing. What I also like about this game is that it is actually funny! Some script writers should try to include jokes as good as in this one.

Story:8

It is not bad, but certainly not the best I have heard. The basic story is that Jackie Chan is a delivery boy(yuck!) and he has to deliver a package. Then his grandfather gets kidnapped by some bad guys that you will be happily beating up later on. By all means, it is not bad, but if you are in the mood for an excellent story, pick something else.

Sound:9

Grunts, whistles and punches are all done very well in this game. They are loud and realistic. There is not much music, but sound effects are done so well. A splash sounds like a splash, not a fake tape recording. You hear bones crack and tires screech. It all sounds crisp and fresh. The voice-overs are great as well. Jackie's Voice is great. Not very much more to say about this other than it is also one of this games strong suits.

Graphics:7

The graphics are by no means anything out of the ordinary. Cutscenes are displayed pretty bad. Well, only the people look bad. The areas look very good, and objects are nice, but some people look very weird. Hands look like lumps, and faces are a bit flat. While playing, though, you will not experience any difficulties.

Replayibility:10

You will want to play this months after you have beaten it. First of all,you have to collect dragon head icons in every level. It is fun to try to get them all. Second, you get a grade for every level. Trying to get an A+ for every level is no easy task. Last but not least, there are so many moves to try out and fighting is just great in JC:S.

BUY or RENT? Buy! Even people who are not truly interested in beat-em-up's will like or love this game. Definetly worth the full price, and nowadays it is even less! You will not be sorry!
