Metal Slug X

"One of the funnest games I have ever played."

This game should be in anyones library if youre into oldschool games. Too bad they had to give the game unlimited continues, that makes the game too easy and ruins the challenge. But oh well, maybe next time. In Metal Slug X basically all you do is go screen to screen and shoot everything in sight. Like Smash TV converted into a side-scroller.

Graphics - 8
Certianly the not the best graphics ever, but it gets the job done. The boss look very cool, and so do the backgrounds. Some of the guns look pretty bland though, but of course some of them look pretty cool so it evens out. The levels are pretty random though, like in one level you'll be in a castle and then in the next level you'll be in a desert.

Gameplay - 7
The gameplay is alright. Its not as frantic and hectic as it could be. And since there are unlimited continues there is absolutly NO STRATEGY INVOLVED. Thats the only reason I didnt give this game a 10. Everthing other than that is perfect. I mean, would Final Fantasy be fun if you had infinite energy? Would Mario be fun if you cant die? Would Metal Gear Solid be fun if the guards never see you? Would Castlevania be fun if non of the enemies cause any damage? Would Pac-Man be fun if there were no ghosts? Im pretty sure you see my point here. Or atleast some of it.

Replay Value - 10
Atleast the replay value in this game is high. You can play this game over and over and over again. Theres a 2player mode, so that even adds even more replay value. The bosses are really fun to play, and some of them are really hard.

Buy/Rent - If your an oldschool gamer, then this game is for you. If any of you grew up on the playstation or the 64 might not like this game. If you dont really like oldschool games though you should atleast rent it to see if you like it or not. Never know.

Overall - 10
Just because this game has a really high replay value is why I gave this game a 10. And its definantly worth whatever price it is to get it.
