"2d or not 2d? That ain't the question."

Well here we have another Street Fighter which looks 3d but is still a 2d game at heart.

Gameplay--The gameplay has a lot of the usual SF fighting in it with a few new features which add a nice touch. Okay there is the usual go through the game, beat all your opponents, get your spot on the high score. With that already said lets get to the new features inside this little bugger. First of all is the Meteo which is the ultimate combo that can be pulled off which of course takes a full meter to use it. Second is the mini games which include breaking barrels etc.. which is a break from the fighting part. Third is the director mode which lets you capture your favorite moves and edit to your delight which can be quite fun to do. Well with that said, the control is solid but can be frustrating with certain characters, the combo moves can be easily learned with a little practice, and the secret character are a plus.

Graphics--A mixed bag of graphic which can look crisp at times but have a few problem. When fighting the characters will sometimes have a little break up but isn't a big problem. There is a little fog but nothing too much that'll stray you away from the game. Besides that the characters are pretty clean and smooth and is a significant improvement from the first game. One last thing would be the background which looks better than the characters themselves but all they add to the game is background and nothing else.

Sound--Decent sound, sometimes repetitive, sometime annoying. The fighting music could have been better than this but hey it still sounds better than half the fighting game out there which could be a plus. For the most part the music is not very diverse and just gets annoying at time for being so damn repetitive but hey if you don't like the music then mute the tv and listen to a cd.

Replayability--Decent amount of replayability that should satisfy anyone for a good amount of time. Most of the replayability would be mastering the characters and definitely for the director mode which is great.

Buy/Rent--Well if you like Street Fighter then this is not at all a bad buy considering that you can get anywhere for less the 20 bucks. If you are interested in playing this game but don't to buy it then definitely rent it you won't be disappointed at least I hope not.
