"Not very dark..."

Alone in the dark : The new nightmare

Here we are at the final days of the Playstation’s Life and I think Alone in the dark is the last survival horror coming out so is it worth it?

Gameplay-
Well you start out choosing one of the two heroes the typical male charcter Edward and the freaked out female character Aline.
If you've played Resident Evil Before you'll get the picture.
Controls are exactly the same as Resident Evil and Friends except for some minor changes here and there.
You can control a flashlight, which is Kind of cool at first but gets boring later.
The Guns are useless it doesn’t matter which gun your holding it feels all the same.
Over All:
Nothing new in this department, it’s just like the others.

Story-
“Dare to enter an intensely dark, strange and frightening atmosphere. Battle your fear of the unknown as Edward Carnby or Aline Cedrac: armed with a Flashlight and courage, you must locate the necessary items to survive and find clues to help you escape this ultimate nigthtmare…Why are you shaking?”
You have to go through a huge dark mansion to uncover some Pills...
The story is weird and after the first thirty minutes in the game you'll get confused and wonder what are you doing. Story is a weak point in Alone in the dark because it’s very shallow and it fails to engross you in the plot. The notes that are left to inform you about past happenings are very Long (14 pages +) and I found it a burden reading them.
Over all:
Story is quite weak and fails to capture any attention.

Audio/Video-
Here is where Alone in the dark blasts all other Survival horrors out of the water!
Graphics are really nice to look at from the cg's and In game cinemas.
Lighting in the game is superb, it really makes you want to play further to see how wonderful everything looks. The game can really creep you out, with thanks to the graphics. Audio is pretty good also it helps keeping the game in the right mood.
Over all:
Superb graphics and Above Average sound!

Replayability-
Absolute no replay Value what so ever both the characters have the same ending no extras.... :(
Over all:
No point in playing again.

Conclusion-
Alone in the dark is a decent game but is way too similar to the other survival horrors. The graphics and sound are spectacular but is it worth buying the game?
I suggest renting it and then deciding whether to buy it, and add it to your survival Horror collection.
