G-Police

"Loading times shoot what is a great FPS"
I enjoy the Descent series as much as anyone. It's a great series that is a whole lotta fun to play. And kickin the crap out of terrorists is always fun. So mix the two together, and you have G-Police. Only one thing. When the alchemists made this game, they accidently broke a vat of loading time into the game, putting a bullet in the foot of a solid formula.
-- Graphics 9 / 10 --
The graphics engine working for this game is simply amazing. And the weird thing is, when you fly into a ship, the games FPS actually goes up instead of down !! Who thought that up? But its still undeniably cool how 10 ships can dogfight with a crap-shoot all over the place...and no frame rate dippin. Wow. Kudos to Psygnosis.
-- Sound 9 / 10 --
Another wonderful job by Psygnosis on the voice acting. I forget - are they American? If not, they sure have a good American translation department. There is voice acting, too. No more message boxes. On a scratched up CD though, you may be kinda SOL because the sound is usually the first thing to go.
-- Gameplay 6 / 10 --
The gameplay is awesome. The fact that you can fly around and blow the hooey out of anything that moves really is very cool. And even some buildings are fully destroyable! On PS1!!! Woah! So why is there only 6 out of 10? Simple. Loooaaadddddddddiiiiiiiinnnnnggggg tttttiiiiimmmmeeeessss! They take forever! Even the menu take a timed 1 minute 14 seconds to load!! I managed to eat a pack of soup before a mission was done loading. Ouch.
-- Control 7 / 10 --
It's a bit hard to handle, and the learning curve is a bit hard to handle, but the game has enough good points to reap the benefits.
-- Story Not Applicable --
-- Overall (not average) 8.62 / 10.00 --
If that loading time had been a little more reasonable, the game would have had another point. However, it really could have been better. It should have been better. But its still a great game in any case. I reccommend it to any Descent fan. Just have some time to kill, and you'll be happy.
