Fighter Maker
Review by poidon
"Don't be fooled. You don't _make_ a fighter."
I saw this on some gaming website. It looked cool. I was especially attracted by the cover art of some cool looking Virtua Fighter-esque guy in mid-move, with parts of his body in wireframe and all sorts of interesting levers and stuff. I bought it, because I thought you could actually ''make'' a fighter. As in wireframes and textures. Well, I was fooled, as probably a good 10 of you were as well. You don't make a fighter. You make his moves. Only what he does. And after seeing what was in the Matrix, you can duplicate it. But its just way too hard for anyone who isn't a total computer junkie.
-- Graphics 5 / 10 --
The characters look like a Sega Saturn game. And there is only one environment. While you can make his moves up, the graphics are just way too sub-par. Sure, it was during the beginning of the Playstation, but still. An innovative game like this should have waited until the graphics capabilities of the Playstation have been improved at least a bit. Remember, this is around the time of Tekken 2.
-- Sound 3 / 10 --
The sound was totally stupid. I sold the game over a year ago and I still laugh at it. There is still voice acting in it - all Japanese - and it sucked. Retarded monkeys with holes sewn over their mouths could have done a better vocal job.
-- Gameplay 1 / 10 --
Since its so freakin impossible just to get a couple moves done, I gave this an incredibly low score. However, since you can use friends' memory cards to get new moves, like RPG Maker, this game could literally last forever. I just hated it. I totally reccommend that if you can rent this game, you do just to see if it is your bag.
-- Control 1 / 10 --
Bleah. Please. Remake this software so it's at least a little easy to use. The control is horrible. Remember the retarded monkeys? Sew their fingers together and they could have made better control figures. And its not customizable either.
-- Story Not Applicable --
-- Overall (Not Average) 0.82 / 10.00 --
Any fan of Agetec's Maker series knows first hand just how difficult it is to operate their software. But, instead, this one just takes the cake. Bad control, bad sound, bad gameplay, bad graphics. It all just adds up to a negative. I give it the proverbial two thumbs down.
