You Don't Know Jack: Mock 2
Review by roadkill
"I may not know jack, but it's sure fun trying."
I hit PC series turned console series turn TV series. You Don’t Know Jack is one of the funniest game shows ever. The mix of testing your knowledge and humor is what draws people to this game. This is a great party game for seeing who of you can get either the highest score (if you are really smart) or the lowest score simply by guessing (if your like the rest of us).
Graphics – 10
Simple graphics, not much to screw up here. It’s pretty much just the questions and the answers displayed on the screen. On weird thing is when you pause this game, all you see is a picture of TV from the 50’s or something with static on the screen.
Sound – 10
Wow, how can they fit all this voice acting into one little CD? Every question is verbally read to you, if that weren’t enough, if you get the question right, your “host” congratulates you. If you get it wrong, well, the host mocks you and explains what the correct answer is. Sometime his explanations can get pretty lengthy. This game has no music besides to ticking of the clock and some “tunes” during the Jack Attacks. If that weren’t enough for you, you see, each game has a them to it. At the end of each game, during the credit rolls, there’s like commercials of false products and some of them can get damn funny.
Control – 10
Well, there really ain’t much here either. Except the four facing buttons correspond to the simples on the answers, you use one of the shoulder buttons to buzz in and you can screw your opponent. No, I’m serious, it’s called “screwing” your opponent. You get a question you can’t answer and you thing they can’t answer it, you can screw them so they have to answer or lose some cash.
Replay – 6
This is a hilarious game packed with knowledge and humorous remarks. Even if you don’t get the question right, you’re in for a little funny comment. One thing I don’t like about this game is the questions can get way too hard. I think the only reason there’s any replay to this game is either your really smart or you just like to hear him making all those wise-crack comments.
Overall – 8
As I said before, this game has too hard of questions. If they would’ve eased up on the questions a little, this could’ve easily have been the best trivia game in the world. One of the funnest things to do is listen to the ending credits, I love those.
