Pong: The Next Level
Review by BigBastard316
"A Modern Aged Classic!!!"
Now you might be thinking of all the games to give a noble title like classic...why Pong? Well I do feel pong has a lot to offer at a very fair price...
GAMEPLAY (10/10):
Pong features great gameplay for any type of gamer. Also with all the extra additions added to this new version such as all the power-ups and some environmental factors (wind blowing the ball, penguins running in the way) it definitely poses a challenge. Also you can't complain about the controls considering all you have to do is press UP or Down with the occasional X button for power-ups anyone can play it.
GRAPHICS (8/10):
The graphics for pong are actually pretty good. Especially if you played the original. Now it's not up to par with some of the Final Fantasy cut scene's but hey it's pong. The different levels are smoothly done and the 3d pong guy is pretty funny.
STORY (0/10):
Now I am not counting the story line against my rating. Pong doesn't have a story line. Hopefully it never will. It's just one of those games that you just turn on in play with your friends more than you put 40 hours into to finally see the ending.
SOUND/MUSIC (4/10):
Now this might be the reason why Pong did not receive a perfect score. At first the music can be dealt with. However when you are stuck on a certain level and your getting angry the annoying music doesn't really help. Considering it's not really good in the first place.
REPLAY ABILITY (10/10):
You will now be warned. Pong is very addicting. it will also make you very angry at times when you realize that you can't jump on gamefaqs and read a walk through to help you beat a certain board. With myself I found out the more I lose I keep playing and playing and playing. However Pong is one of those games that isn't worth getting rid of because you'll be playing it for a real long time.
FINAL WORD:
Pong overall receives a 9/10 for it's great gameplay, graphics, and it's extremely high replay ability. Once again I can't hold the story line against the game and the music does drag it down from a perfect 10. It's is a MUST BUY game. Also considering that you can rent it for $5 at you local blockbuster or run down to the nearest game store and BUT IT FOR ONLY $7.99.
