"A pool game with a storyline! This is as good as it gets for the Playstation"

Not many pool games exist for the Playstation, but when I saw Backstreet Billiards, I decided to give it a shot... and I am glad that I did. If you ask me, I'd take this game over Ultimate 8 Ball any day.

Graphics: 9
- Accurate representation of all the physics of a pool game, nicely animated characters as well as environments. Many different view angles help give this game the "oomph" that it needs.

Sound: 9
- Everything from the crack of the break shot from sinking the 8 ball in the corner pocket is included in this game. The in-game music isn't anything ground-breaking, but it's not that bad, either. A cool feature about this game, is it allows you to pause, take out the Backstreet Billiards CD, and insert any audio CD you prefer. You can now listen to your music while retaining all of the great sound effects of the game.

Control: 10
- Almost everything regarding a shot in the game of pool is customizable. Arrange the angle of the shot, the strength of the shot, and even the curve of the shot. Controls are straight-forward and not complicated.

Gameplay: 8
- Well, it IS pool... You'll be doing nothing more than hitting balls into pockets. But if you're a fan of pool, you should really enjoy this game.

Overall: 9
