Battle Arena Toshinden 3
Review by GL
"Fun... for about 10 seconds"
I wasn't really a fan of the Battle Arena Toshiden series, and this one doesn't help a bit. Tiny rooms, bad sound and boring game play make this a shouldn't play.
Let's start with graphics. Well I must admit, the graphics are okay. But I thought the arena's were lacking. Special moves were usually short and weren't going to leave you in awe.
Sound... if you want to call it that. The music goes from okay, to mediocre. The sound effects, grunts and voices on the other hand, are at the lowest point of mediocrity. Mute is a must, or bring a Walkman.
Gameplay, let's see. The two r-buttons do special moves, so a no-brainer's fighter. There are two types of supers, one that rely one these little blue orbs above your health, and one that works after a bar fills up. The one with the blue orbs are performed with something even harder than the hadouken, pressing square and triangle at the same time! *gasp* And even harder is the other super, performed by pressing the square, triangle, circle and X button at the same time! *double gasp*
Lame fighter, don't even bother getting the secret characters, they are merely mirrors of the original fighters. Except 3 secret characters, but you'll have to play through the game more than twice... so it's not worth the effort.
