Brave Fencer Musashi
Review by Golden
"Umm, it's kinda funny"
This was an, uhh, interesting game. The gameplay was pretty simple, and I liked the fact that you could learn different moves and combos from the citizens that you rescue throughout your journey. And the graphics were okay. But it was just a really childish game. I mean, just start with the main character. How old is Musashi? 7? That's what he sounds like. And the rest of the voice acting was pretty bad too. I mean, the overly effeminite librarian was funny at first, but not that funny. And the rest of the voices were just downright annoying and sometimes stereotypical. Overall, the dialogue and voice acting sucked majorly. The gameplay was good, and the it's what the battles make this game an actual Adventure game rather than an RPG. Just because there are a couple of juvenile puzzles, doesn't mean that it's an RPG. But that doesn't really matter. The fighting was pretty simple, just keep smacking them with your swords, and using your learned techniques, and you'll get through the game easily. The only problem I had was the end boss. And that's because I would have never thought that you had to actually absorb him. That was a big surprise. I had to check out the FAQs here to do that. Any ways, the story's kinda interesting, but that rival guy what's-his-name (?) was kinda worthless. He should have been a lot tougher if he was Musashi's rival. Actually, the game in general was just too easy. I think it should have just been marketed to the little kids 'cause that's what the game was like. In general, I kinda enjoyed this game, but that's because it was humorous on how bad it was, and that it was so easy. I think it's definitely a weekend rental. 'Cause it'll take that long to finish it. And you can see how goofy it really is.
