Brave Fencer Musashi
Review by T J
"Square's answer to Zelda 64"
Brave Fencer is one of the coolest games our for the psx.It has basically everything a good rpg needs to get the job done. The storyline is really good, the characters creative, and the gameplay fun.It will keep you adictided for hours at a time, and has some very cool elements. For example, when you save people (located throughout the world),some of them will teach you a new technique to use against enemies, some will refill your life for free, and some are just plain old useless.Just like in any other rpg,the character will gain levels as he progresses through the game. The battles are done in real-time,so there is always plenty of action in this game.Enemies will always be right around the corner, attacking you when you least suspect it.You cab even steal most of the enemies' abilites and use them as if they were your own!The game is frustrating at times, though. For example.some of the puzzles or even just finding out where to go next is quite a task at times. The game does seem hard in the begining of it,because some of the enemies will prick you for 23 points of damage at a time, and since you have a short life bar in the begining of the game(150 HP)it will start to add up after awhile. The game doesn't have alot of secrets to it either (most of the hard things to do invlove progressing in the game itself). But overall, this is one of the coolest games out there for the playstation, and if you give it a try,you will probably be glad you did.
(By the way,it comes with a Final Fantasy 8 playable demo!)
