FIFA 99
Review by Munch
"A sweet futbol game with excellent graphics."
Fifa and EA sports were thinking right when they decided to create the brand new soccer game for the Playstation console. Fifa '99 is without a doubt one of the best games this year. With real life animation, real play time, and awesome player moves, Fifa '99 has it all. This gaem brings a brand new gaming experience right into your home. Now I know what you're thinking, why release a brand new soccer gaem when you just put out Fifa Road to the World cup a couple of months back. The reason is because soccer fans have been waitng for this game. One reason that they need this game is because in Fifa Road to the World cup, the Turbo and Cross buttons have been mixed into one button (triangle). This is bad because if you're running down the sidelines tapping triangle, your player will boot the ball out of bounds near the end line. However, in Fifa '99, the Turbo and Cross are separate and so now you can run down the sidelines without having to worry about this problem.
Another thing I really like about this game is that there is a European Dream League. Where you can play as Europe's best teams and compete against each other. The soundtrack is really good, it features the smash "Right about Now" by Fatboy Slim.
One of the only setbacks of this game, is that there is no World cup option. This is because 1999 is not a World cup year. But the rest of the game more than makes up for this minor flaw. All in all, this is one hell of a soccer game with realistic graphics and life-like movements, heck, even the crowd sounds real.
