"Time to Bring in the Rainbow 3!?"

Rainbow Six was a Corker of a game on the PC, With you taking contol of an elite band of Special Force Mercenaries, Loading them up with an assortment of Guns, Gadgets and Costumes and inserting them in Hostage style Scenarios all over the world. It was Tense, Very True and was one of the first of it's genre, that spawned so many (Soldier of Fortune ETC). When Rebellion wanted to Port it to the Playstation, It came as no Surprise to me, Who Immediately began looking forward to this game. But Rebellion have created a Shambles of a game, A Shell of it's PC Brother, That in No way Maximises the Full Potential of the PSX, and In fact Borderlines omongst some of the worst. I like a fool Expected more and am ashamed to say I Bought it. But Listen up, I will prove to you that that is The Worst decision you could make!

The Visuals have to be amongst the worst I have ever experienced on this Machine. Even the backgrounds are Amauter Ish, With Tables and Chairs looking Superimposed, but that cannot even be compared tp the Characyers. The Sprites are So Shockingly Bad, I was left feeling like I was playing a Mega Drive game. They look so Appaling, any sense of Suspense is terminated, Which Is a shame as the PC Version Thrived on this.

One of the Key Factors in Succeeding in the PC version was the Huge amount of planning Involved. But with 3, Coun't em 3 Operatives on hand, there is no point. they have no Strategies, Skill or Ultimate Goal, and You may as well just Control One of them and be done with it. The Artificial Intelligence Is awful, With many of your friends Standing in Doorways because they had failed to Negotiate the Doorway. The Control Isn't best suited to the PSX, Mouse and Keyboard Control was always better. Red strom could have at least made this a little Functional, It worked before in Quake 2. But Frankly, their attempts were Ridiculous. aiming is a Laugh, Even at Point blank range and Opening doors takes an alarmingly long time.

Rainbow Six, Or should I say Rainbow 3, Is yet another attempt at a PC Conversion gone wrong. it can happen (Quake 2), and with the right people it will. But Appalling graphics, an Unforgiving Control System and Irritating gameplay, Render this Virtually Unplayable, and I will Therefore award this A Prestigious 1/10.
