Jet Moto 2
Review by Elxalraj
"Amazing.. stunning.. different."
Indeed i consider Jet Moto 2 to be a great predecessor and all in all a great game. I still remember waiting for the first game to be released and playing my brains out in its amazing courses.. then i flushed it down the toilet. Now came Jet Moto 2, with the ability of playing the first game's tracks.. oh the memories, pretty ones at that.. i just had to OWN the game..
Jet Moto 2 is by far a large difference from the first game.. i'd start off first by saying all the courses are very different, most of them involve grappling to the floor rather than the side of the track, also.. there are alot of upward and downward swirls.. stuff you couldn't have dreamed of in the first version. Graphics are a bit choppy, but more than bearable.. and the fun factor stands above all... you get to choose in this version from a smaller crowd, picking up crafts according to weight and consequently their speed, maneuvering, grip, etc. Tracks depend alot on what type of craft you use, some of them combining the different ground from snow to concrete and even water.
Sound was always spectacular from the first thing, a sorta James Bond meets tropical thing.. old stuff but still exciting and very adequate to the type of game you're playing.. Jet Moto 2 keeps the same basis, though alot of the old songs were taken out. As to the tracks.. you get to pick tournaments or even single races against hordes of other jetski's, usually competing on a looped cycle around the race, going to one checkpoint and back (suicidal tracks) and stuff like that... some tracks are really different from the rest, say like one where you jump around banks of water, to one where you jump from one shard of ice to another. In the normal Jet Moto 2 version you need race with all drivers through tournaments to unleash the first version's tracks.. what i did was get the cheap Jet Moto 2, Greatest Hits.. gee, it's easier than said, you get all the tracks open at onec.. this enhances ALOT the replay value, all the tracks for no sweat.
All in all the game is very addictive but definitely not for those that don't like racing games.. i know, this one is different, but its a different type of racing game that most definitely one within the genre would better enjoy.
With this said and done i think Jet Moto 2 is a keeper, its fun for two players and even with one.. and the fun won't wear off as easilly.
