Kartia: The Word of Fate

"One of the best storylines...but quite easy"

Kartia presents Versus modality this makes it unique it also presents a very interesting story line (one of the best I´ve ever seen). It's very interesting and that's not all, as the storyline presents two characters (Toxa and Lacryma) to make it a unique RPG.

STORY LINE:9.5

Kartia's music is good but it doesn't surpass normal. Some chapters have a very acceptable music and INTRO presents also a good melody. Sound effects are good also but the problem is that they are primitive. I think ATLUS has more potential in this aspect.

MUSIC:7.5

Kartia presents excellent animation (from the releaser of the Final Fantasy series) it presents beatiful drawings Lacryma, Mona, Duran, and all the drawings of characters he used are great. Graphics in battle are not that great but some spells present good graphics. In conclusion graphics are regular but the drawing and animation job is very good.

GRAPHICS AND ANIMATION:8.0

Kartia has a poor replay value cuz the game is straight and it doesnt give a chance of a different ending, but that doesn't mean the game is bad. I mean the storyline makes it fun, and it´s like a good book and even though it's sraight you like to play it again

REPLAY VALUE:7.5

The weakest point of this game is that the game is pretty easy in almost all of the chapters of both characters, and for experienced players it's dramatically easy sometimes. In the final chapters it is worse cuz monsters are very easy to defeat. This game would have definetely been much better if ATLUS paid more attention in DIFFICULTY AND LONGEVITY of the game.

LONGEVITY:15 HOURS DIFICULTY:EASY

Gameplay and fun factor are good (although battles are quite easy) I mean you won't be dissapointed in buying this game, and as I mentioned Storyline can compete with any of the Best RPGs (Chrono Trigger, ZELDA series, Terranigma, Final Fantasy 3 and 7,Breath of fire series etc....)

FUN FACTOR AND GAMEPLAY :8.5

¿Why this game is so original?
First of all this game its pretty original cuz it presents lots of new things. Versus mode exchange of items with friends saved games, the two characters unite but present different storylines (and Storylines are pretty original also), in battle you can create monsters, and you can fight with more than 20 characters (obviously including monsters). Magic and HP is managed totally different (unfortunately this makes it quite easy).

OVERALL:
This game has one of the best storylines ever made and believe me this game is real good, and for beginners is one of the best options and for experienced players or RPG fans it worth the value of your cash.
