Mega Man X4
Review by Cid
"One of the Mega Man Greats"
The Mega Man series is one of the most known of Capcom's series. Spanning over several systems, and producing many games, the latest installment in the series, Mega Man X4 is one of the best. Mega Man X3 introduced the Zero Change system, in which you could become Zero, X's partner for part of the level. In MMX4, that is no more. You can finally become Zero as a full character. Featuring 2 characters, Wonderfully created Anime Scenes, and a good challenge Factor, Mega Man X4 is sure to keep you going for a while.
Storyline:
The story is great in this game. The Repliforce, a nation of Reploids,
has decided to go Maverick and start their own nation. As X or Zero, you
must stop the repliforce, and as well a hidden enemy, that if you are a fan
of the X series you should know about. Of course, you travel through different
levels trying to stop the mavericks, and you gain new weapons and new
attachments like in any other X game. Good storyline overall though.
Graphics:
The graphics are splendid. The game features several anime cutscenes
that help add to the storyline that Capcom introduced in this game. Also, using
the power of the Playstation, the graphics are good, but not great. However, if you focus on the gameplay, you won't even care.
Music and Sound:
The Music in this game is great. However the sound is...well...eh. One thing
that i noticed that i didn't like was the sounds that X and Zero make when they
jump. Also, to make things worse, X sounds like a girl. That's not something you
would expect, but it's true.
Overall:
If you are a fan of the X series, this is a must have. However, if you still
aren't sure, go rent this one and then decide. If you aren't a fan of the
series, i still suggest going out and giving this one a try. Even if you don't
like the series, you shouldn't be dissapointed.
