"Something that has its moments but falls short of a good game"

I remember looking around at the selection of the video store trying to find a good game for the weekend. Well I saw this, it looked good (for the time being), so I picked it up and decided to try it out, not so good idea.

Graphics 6/10: Decent graphics, I always love 2-D games, that side scrol but I never relaly got involved with this game. It just seemed to uneven or undone, they could have at least thrown in more than 1 FMV! But other than that, its alright. Just dont expect great graphics to keep your eye on or something.

Gameplay 8/10: I LOVE the gameplay on this, you play a girl who has a good side and a bad side split in half (think of Two Face from Batman). If you face the east direction, you will fire Light element shots, if you face to the left, you'll fire dark element. It adds alot of challenge (which I love) to the game. You can also pick up coins to buy new weapons and stuff like that, overall great gameplay.

Music 4/10: Well, what can I say? Its not Chrono Trigger/Chrono Cross grade music, but its enough to get you thru the game. But after I played the game and turned it off, about 20 minutes later I completely forgot all the music in the game. There is nothing REMOTELY memorable in music for this game. But I do love the up-beat quirky music they did have.

Story 3/10: Save the world from an ultra powerful villian, pretty cliche(pronounced. Clee-shay) huh? (Cliche meaning, overused and overdone) There arent really that many huge plot twists or ''WOW THATS AN AWESOME STORY!!'' but hey you never know, you might love it..... or hate it. I generally didnt care for it.

Replayability 3.5/10: Meh, after I beat this game. I never touched it again. But as I said earlier, you might love it or hate it. Just depends on the type of gamer you are.

Secrets & Options 4/10: I would have given this a 2 but since Lunar 2: EB didnt come out yet AND this game had a secret preview cheat in it, I gave it a 4. There is almost absolutely NO secrets in this game, unless you think unlocking etenral bliss and happiness is a secret (I sure hope you dont beleive what I said there, lol). Anyways, other than the Lunar FMV cheat, the secrets suck in this game.

As a word of advice for Working Designs, next time you make a side scroller game, try and put at leas 3 FMV's and some better graphics and music. Because this stuff aint cuttin it that good.
