Tail Concerto
Review by FinalFantasyForever
"Tail Concerto-Unique Game, But Several Flaws."
Tail Concerto. I bought this game rather recently from a website. By now, this game is fairly cheap to find, and get. Anyway, my first impressions on the game, were pretty good. Let's start with the *Storyline*.
STORYLINE-
4/10
The storyline to Tail Concerto, is rather cliched severely. This story is mostly typical of storylines a game could be. A Dog Police Officer, by the name of Waffle, fights crime like the Black Cats Gang, I think it is called. You should figure out the story, when the scene(s) progress. Anyway, the game opens up with a awesome Anime-style video. The video consists of dog&cat-Anime scenes, which the world of Praire(The name of the world in Tail Concerto), all of the characters are either dog or cat. After the video plays, the menu screen opens up, which you can select-
'New Game'
'Load Game'
'Options'
As I said above, the story is pretty common in some games, but the story doesn't really make the game bad.
On with the *Graphics*.
GRAPHICS-
10/10
The graphics to Tail Concerto, are done very nicely, and run really good. The game is done in fully 3D, which handles very stable, unlike some other fully-3D games I can think of. There are several(more than 4+), Anime/Cartoon, FMVs throughout the game. The graphics are textured, with almost every 3D object, having some sort of texture to it, creating a realistic, advanced feel.
On with the *Controls*.
CONTROLS-
5/10
The controls to Tail Concerto, is somewhat complicated. Moving Waffle and his Gear(Robot suit he usually operates in), can be frustrating at times, because the controls move too easily at times, making specific parts in the game annoying and hard. The camara angles are bad as well, with not showing what is directly in front of you, but instead, viewing, sort of, above you.
On with the *Battles*.
BATTLES-
7/10
The battles in Tail Concerto, are done in a, sort of, Action Shooter. You basically 'kill' all the Kittin Vehicles and grab all the Kittins into your transporter, on your back, and then it transports the kittens back to HeadQuarters, for examination. The battles are somewhat easy to do.
On with the *Musical Score*.
MUSICAL SCORE-
8/10
The music in Tail Concerto, is done fairly well. Most tracks sound really good, and memorable. I have no real complaints with the music to this game. This game also contains VOICE ACTING, which is used throughout important scenes with characters, and in the FMVs as well. The Voice Acting is done really prefessional and 'true'.
On with the *Final Comments*.
FINAL COMMENTS-
~DECISION: Whether To Buy Or Rent.~
I would possibly buy it, unless your not a big fan of 3D Action games, then rent first. Like myself, I prefer RPGs over 3D Action games, but this game still appealed to me.
On another note:
This game's length is fairly short, with it being able to complete, in around 5, if you know what to do, to around 13hrs. Also, after you beat the game, you are allowed to save your game after the credits, and be able to watch all the Anime FMVs in the game, as well as, listen to all the music tracks, and view the Photo Album.
