"This game proves that Graphics just don't matter"
A nice, cheap and cheerful game.
Gameplay:10/10
Simple! You stick an Audio CD in, and press a certain button combination to move through the sound generated tracks. As the music plays, obstacles are generated, requiring lightning fast reactions. A fast piece of music will make you move faster while a slow one will make you move slower. A gentle piece of music will be easier, while a violent, never silent, fast, piece of Rock music will be extremely hard! It makes sense really. Everytime you successfully navigate an obstacle, you get a point thing. When you have a full circle around you of them, you evolve. The more obstacles you hit, the closer you get to losing. You slowly deteriorate into a Frog, than a little Worm. The better you do, the closer you will get to winning (the end of the track). Simple!!
Graphics:3/10
Made up entirely of lines. You can see why, its just to allow the game to fit into the Playstation's RAM when you insert an Audio CD. The white lines are.... weird, but nice to look at, for some reason. Some may moan its not pushing the Playstation to it's limits, but they do the job, which is make the game playable, and there IS an understandable reason.
Audio:10/10
Vibri's voice (the main character) is gobbledegook. That is about the only sound in the game. The reason I gave the Audio a 10, is because you can listen to your fave CD a you play the sound-generated levels!! There is an endless list of levels, providing you have enough CDs!!
Replayabilty:10/10
The more CDs you have, the longer the game will last! You will never get bored of listening to your favorite bit of music, while playing an excellent game.
Challenge:9/10
There is plenty of it. As I have already said, a more violent bit of music will be harder. It's nice to stick in a CD, and see what kind of obstacles it will generate! You'll be trying every CD you can get your hands on. But, NEVER try classical music. It's to easy. On one bit I tried, there where no obstacles generated! The music wasn't loud enough! Now that's a bit TOO easy, don't you think??
Buy or rent:
Buy. That is, if you have a large cd collection. If you don't, you may want to consider renting it.
Overall:8
This is how you make a game. It doesn't matter about the graphics. All that matters is the gameplay. And this game proves it.
