"Mortal Kombat Trilogy graces onto the Playstation."

Mortal Kombat Trilogy is a game which is a combination of the 4 previous Mortal Kombats cramped into one game.It features a total of 37 fighters with 32 fighters which include the return of favorites like Johnny Cage and Rayden along with the boss characters. There are four classic characters which are formats of Kano, Rayden, Jax, and Kung Lao along with a hidden fighter, Chameleon. The game features almost 30 stages all from the 4 previous Mortal Kombat games. The game retains all the features from Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 along with a couple new additions. There is a new Aggressor meter which when full allows you to perform more damaging attacks and a new Brutality finisher which is a fast combo that reduces the opponent into many decimated body parts.

Graphics: The character models, the stage backgrounds, and all the action is very nice and looks very realistic. The action is very fast which is nice without any slowdown at all. There are some stages which were not added onto Mortal Kombat Trilogy such as the Hall of Champions stage from Mortal Kombat I.

Sound: All the characters each have their own different voice effects which occur depending on the action. Also, the music is quite impressive with rock and retro beats going. However there are glitches which occur in the sounds often involving the smacks which occur on occasion especially during the Brutalities. Plus, there are some voice effects by the announcer which were missing from the arcade version of Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3.

Control: The controls are quite responsive on the Playstation controller as you will be able to pull off many of the special moves of the combatants along with their combos. The layout of the button configuration is quite comfortable unlike that from Street Fighter games. However, there are some moves which are annoying to pull off and aren't as responsive such as Sektor's Heat-Seeking Missile.

Gameplay: Mortal Kombat Trilogy retains all the features which were found in the arcade version of Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. 2-on-2 Kombat, Tournament, and all the other features are present from the arcade version of Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3.

Overall: Despite some sound and control problems, Mortal Kombat Trilogy is a must buy to own for diehard fighting game and Mortal Kombat fans. It has many characters and a variety of different modes which will be enjoyed by many Mortal Kombat fans in this final 2-D Mortal Kombat game.
