"I have to say I wasn't surprised"

Another MLB game. So far the next one has always been better than the one before it, and I wasn't disappointed here. While some parts of the game are lacking, most are alright. This game is pretty cool.

Controls 8/10

The controls are not difficult, that is once you get the hang of them. If you haven't played an MLB game before, it'll take you a little while to learn, and once you've got it down, you'll never forget it. But there are some problems in the game, such as when you catch the ball, and you press triangle to throw to second, you end up jumping in the air. The end result: the man gets to second, and you get to cuss out the game. But it doesn't listen.

Music 6/10

This game could really use some work in this department. I mean, every now and then it should play something besides, ''Take me out to the ball game'' every single time you turn the game on, and after trying to find a player to trade or something for ten minutes, it gets really annoying. Really annoying. I hope the next game they have more than one song. And then when you score a home run, it plays one out of about 2 song clips, and if you get, say, 4 home runs simultaneously, it gets pretty boring. Other than that, the game is pretty good.

Sounds 9/10

The sounds in this game, such as the bat hitting the ball, etc, are good. But the announcers get on my nerves after saying the same thing for the last three batters. Or they say, ''He really got some serious wood on that ball!''. That one makes me laugh, but other than that, it's pretty monotonous.

Graphics 8/10

They should have done better here. Flat people in the stands and an invisible wall guarding the dugout just doesn't cut it. There is new technology out there, and they could have spent a few more bucks to make the game better. But then everyone who makes games probably figures that if they save a few bucks, no one will care. Oh, well.

Overall 7/10

I give this game an 7. The reason being, they could have done a whole lot better. But it's still a good game. Don't take me the wrong way.

Rent or Buy?

I say you should rent it first, then see what you think. To those of you who have play an MLB game before, you know that they are addicting, and this one didn't disappoint me in that aspect. Be prepared.
