This is one game I really doubted at first. I saw screen shots and kinda knew what the battle system and considered passing up this one. DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I ALMOST DID!!!!! This game is one of the better RPG's in a long time. Its not as good as say FF7 or Xenogears but it's die hard RPGing the whole way. At first the battle system looked dumb and cartoony but as I soon learned that it was one of the coolest there was. As for the graphics, not exactly showcase material but descent nonetheless. The battle music is very repetitive but it still doesn't get on your nerves. Overall its a great game worthy of going on any RPG players shelf.
GRAPHICS 6/10- The lowest point of the game! Its nowhere near horrible I mean you can see what you're doing and its ..."swell." The anime cutscenes are really cool except they are few and far apart. If more anime scenes were in the final product, the graphics would have gotten a 7 or 8.
CONTROL 10/10- The control is really smooth and the battle mode is one of the most original ideas I have seen in a loooong time! The battle mode plays like a 2-D adventure game and instead of a turn or wait based mode you hack and slash as much as you want.
SOUND 9/10- The battle music is very repetitive but still is cool and the music in the towns is just peachy. The music during the anime scenes is really sweet though.
STORY 10/10- I really haven't gotten to the part where the plot opens up to reveal my real quest but so far its a 10. (this review may change when I play it some more.
REPLAY ?/10- As I said I'm not done but what I know so far is that the replay deserves a 10 because of all the optional quests. (you can even cook!!!)
OVERALL 8/10- Its sweet as far as I know but for mor indepth analysis read my freinds review on Tales of Desiny by EDTHEMOOGLE here at GameFAQs. I will change this review in the near future but as far as I know this game rules! rent it and see!
