WCW Nitro
Review by Jake
"Don't go near this game unless your a die-hard wrestling fan like me."
Well, I've had WCW Nitro for almost a year, and I thought it was the greatest (at the time). The annoucers didn't say ANYTHING, except maybe things like "Syxx is looknig tired", or "Power Bomb", "Piledriver!", "Backbreaker", or "Booker T is possesed", or "DDP's in rare form!" They could have done some stuff to help that out. And the Inland people. They are hidden wrestlers, the last ones in the game, and we have no use for them. THEY might get a big kick out of seeing them go against The Giant, Ric Flair, or Hollywood Hogan.
But we (I) don't really care for them. This would have freed up a lot of disc space, to be used for whatever it needed.
Annoucers -2- Like I said before, they hardly say anything.
Sound -6- The only reason I'm giving this a 6 is because you can hear Ric Flair's "WHOOO", Macho Man's "OHH YEAH!" and Sting's "WOOOOOOO!!!"
Control -3- This is ok, but you have to be quick and know what to expect. VERY quick movements. Before you buy/rent, excercise your fingers and thumb, because you need them. Also, the computer does the same move as you, only a fraction of a second before you get done, it performs the move. I.E. If you wanter a scoop slam, , you would press Up, T, T, T, and the computer would do it also. Lame...
Graphics -5- The graphics are ok, but everyone's the same size, except for The Giant and Nash, and they are the same size, only taller than everyone else. Luger is the same height as Rey Mysterio Jr.
Excitment about the game -6- At first you can't turn the PSX off, but then you get bored, as the roster chages with every month. Syxx is on the game, the Giant is on the game, and Stevie Ray and Booker T are together as Harlem Heat. And Goldberg's not on there, little things like that. But then after you leave it alone for awhile, you get like you've never played it before.
Buy/Rent Hmmmmm.....Well, I bought it, and was a little disappoitned after a little while. First rent, but unless your a die-hard wrestling fan like me, don't go near this game unless you play it at a friend's house.
I gave it a 4 overall, because when I averaged the scores all together, it came out to 4.4
