Neon Genesis Evangelion: Koutetsu no Girlfriend
Review by Kenshi
"Not a really great game unless you like EVA"
Like Evangleion 2nd Impression for the late Saturn, this game allows you to "control" Shinji and help him make choices in his typical day in Neo-tokyo 3. As stated, a fair understanding of Japanese is needed to play this game fully and understand it as well.
Gameplay: 3
Generally all you get to do in this game is choose options and responses. You get treated to a movie clip, and more answer choices. Nothing more to the game than that.
Sound/Video: 9
The sound is clear in the game, as it is heavy reliant on multimedia aspects. Vioces are done very well, and no fuzziness or distortion can be heard. The crys of "Guten Dang" by Asuka or "A-T -field-do" by Misato can be heard true to their seiyuus. The graphics are also well done, with the anime clips running very smoothly (brnad new animations).
Controls: 10
uh there isn't much to the control...choose option 1 or 2.. press the button. repeat. Nothing much here...
Replay value: 6
once you have beaten the game there is not much reason to play again, besides sligthly diferent storylines and results within the game. In my opinion, not enough to warrant another game.
Rent or Buy:
You can finish this game rather quickly, and thre is not much replay value to the game, despite being 2 disks. Unlesss you love Evangelion, its best to rent it and see for yourself whether its worth the buying.
