Madden NFL 99 is awesome. From the great commentary to the drastically improved AI, Electronic Arts is back with a vengence, to become King of Console football again.
Madden has finally turned 3-D showing impressive looking player models compared with previous versions use of Sprites. The game moves at an impressive framerate considering all the action that is going on.
EA Sports packed the game with an incredible amount of options. For newcomers there is an Arcade mode for simplified playing and the One Button mode to help the inexperienced. Simulation fans get the Franchise mode which allows the player to run a team for 5 or more years, which is awesome. The game comes with the standard create a player, and trade options, along with the NFL Draft. Another interesting thing I noticed was that if you have NCAA College Football you can draft players from that into Madden99,talk about inovation.
With all these improvements some might say Madden 99 is flawless. Well your right for the most part. Except one thing. When menu's come up there is a slight drop in the frame rate which causes some chopiness to occur. But its minute and doesn't really effect the effort EA put into this years release.
