Legend of Legaia

"Great fighting system...but a poor story."

Well...Legend of Legaia shine in some department...but is deceiving in some others. The greatest thing in Legend of Legaia is the fighting system.Take the fighting system of Xenogears and put it on steroid.You re going to find yourself imputting command to do special moves and combos named ART.The fight are slow but seeing your character pulling off combo make a change from the usual sword attack.The magic system is pretty special too. To get new magic you have to capture the magic power of the SERU,monster that you re going to encounter at any place filled with the MIST.The fighting are kinda slow but you re going to find youself enjoying them most of the time...especially when fighting a boss.Farter in the game the boss are not as easy as in may RPG and will require a bit of strategy from you. Now...the bad side of the game...the story.The story is good...the first 6-12 hours.You re going to find yourself finding Genesis tree after Genesis tree that can release the land from the deadly mist...and you re going to do that 4/5 of the game.The character development is almost non-existentand you don t care of what can happen to them as in the Final Fantasy serie or as in the mighty Xenogears.From the creator of the great Wild Arms I was hoping for a great story...but let me see to you that their previous game is better.The problem is that the story is what make an RPG a good game...and this game as almost no good plot...until you finish the game because I found myself enjoying the story in the 4-5 last hours.I can only say two things...1:finish this game and 2:if you love RPG with good story you re going to finish this game only one time if you finish it.I was hoping for more...much more.
