Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare

Woo! Probably Infogrames's best ever game! Alright Driver 2 and Sheep Raider were good, but couldn't have been better than AitD4.

GRAPHICAL CONTENT-10/10
The best graphics Psone can offer! Stunning, is not a word for the environments, which have been created to so well, it looks as if the reality just apparated from itself onto this game! The characters-like all other games have defects but, still the graphics rule-and the FMVs and cut-scenes are awesome creations-You'll find the graphics to be so good, that it wouldn't take you long to realise that this is PSone not PS2, really the graphics are that nice! But-alas, all games have defects, the most visible in graphic content is that the environments look painted, they're not realistic in the sense, example-in Spyro all the flowers are affected by wind-thus providing a realistic effect, but AitD4 environments don't *interact* with you, they don't look *live*.

GAMEPLAY-10/10
Awesome, the gameplay is set very very survival horror genre type, okay-it's typically like Resident Evil and Silent Hill, but it rules,

SOUND-10/10
Man! the realism in sound is much better than the graphics themselves! Every small bit of *live* elementry had been added, like when you're walking on wooden floor, the floor actually *reacts* like a real wooden floor, violent shudders, ghostly sounds all make AitD4 the best-sounder in PSone till date!

DIFFICULTY-9/10
VERY DIFFICULT indeed! The set up the way that poses a brain-chewer type, very few healers, many monsters, and a whole bunch of things that make AitD4 a very hard game to finish!

ABILITY TO LAST-0/10
The worst part on the game's part, there is no way, absolutely no way, you will want to play this game every week, perhaps you may remember it in your late 60s and decide to give it another try, but you the game hasn't been set up in a way that you play and play, very poor indeed!

CONTROLS-8/10
Cloned from RE3, like all games, action buttons, press 2 buttons at a time to attack, you know, they really could have improved upon the shooting part, imagine you have to hold down R1 and press the cross button to fire, blasting! But of course all the other one's were nice, ecspecially the Flashlight button.

ORIGINALITY-10/10
TH MAJOR RULER! in one word you can describe the originality-excellent! The best part i liked is when Aline Cedrac has to literally communicate with a ghost, excellent!

PUZZLES-100/10
The hardest part of the game, the puzzles are so well created, a walkthrough is definately reccommended, the tiniest things could be the keys to opening the deepeST DARKEST secrets of the manor...

OVERALL RATING-ONE MILLION/10
The best survival horror game ever, it's definately worth 39.99$, because you are getting 2 totally different adventures packed in one game! BUY IT!
