High Heat Baseball 2000
Review by Fazzle
"I would have given it lower, but gamefaqs.com wouldn't let me"
One word can describe the guys at 366 when they decided to release this game: drunk, well, either that or stupid.
Graphics:
Wow, I thought this was 1999, not 1989. The characters are blocky, stubby, and all look the same. Whenever they show you a replay, you can see your bat missed the ball by about 3 1/2 miles. 1/10
Control:
This is the best part of the game, but that isn't saying much. They're awkward feeling, slow for responding, and half the time the game just doesn't plain do what you told it to do. Take, for instance, the batting. HORRIBLY done. Nice idea, but leave it to a company who knows something. How about fielding? The baserunners run at average speed for a baseball game, but the ball gets thrown at about half speed. Makes it VERY frustrating for defense. 3/10
Sound:
"Well, it's got an announcer..." That's about the best thing that can be said of the sound of the game. Unfortunately, the guy sounds like he's fighting falling asleep(like you will be.) As for the other noise, what other noise? 2/10
Fun Factor:
Maybe I should have just changed it to Factor. There isn't any fun at all in the entire game. You'll either be fighting off sleepyness, rage (from the horrible response time of this game), or thoughts of suicide (if you actually were unfortunate enough to buy the game.) 1/10
Overall:
Well, I can sum it up very easily. I was considering stopping the game at the 30 minute mark, but I figured I should give the game some more time, and give it it's fair share before I reviewed it. Well...I wish I had stopped at the 30 minute mark.
