RPG Maker

"The Ultimate Test of Creativety and Patience"
What is there to say? This game is just plain great!
Really, what you rate this game is completely up to you. If you hate this game, it is 100% your fault. If you love it, then Kudos to you!
Graphics 9/10
They could be better, but they are pretty good. With anime maker ou can make your own stuff which is always good. bt honestly, who cares about graphics anyways?
Sound 5/10
Bleh, easily one of the biggest downfalls in RPGM. theres only about 34 BGMs which get very annoying after a while. You can, in no way make your own BGMs (You CAN, but your character cannot move while it's playing, making it no longer a 'Background Music'.
Challenge 10/10
I admit, I've been playing since release, and I highly doubt i know EVERYTHING about RPGM. At first, you will find yuorself struggling to do things like make insides of houses, but when you play a long time, sooner or later you'll get it. At first it took me like 50 hours to figure out how to switch. Now I'm at the point where I can throw together Custom battle systems in 10 hours or less, and mini-games in like 1 hour (depending).
The REAL challenge in this game is keeping your game original, and being very patient.
Fun 8/10
Making games is VERY fun at first. But when you've played a long time, sometimes making games feels more like a chore.
The fun of the games made with RPGM ranges. There of course are plenty of newB games out there which won't give you an ounce of fun. But there are also plenty of games that will give you loads of fun. My personaly favorites being ''Remote Control'', ''Fufu the Acid Trip bunny'', and ''[Radiant Darkness]''
Battles 7/10
I personally am a large hater of the battle system. Though there ae Custom Battle systems able to be made, but they eat memory pretty fast. In one of my games I made a Custom Battle system which was semi-low on memory. Even though I doubt it is funner than the regular battle system, I feel it is a good break from the same damn battles in every single game you play.
Cons of RPGM
-No timed events: This is THE biggest downfall in RPGM. You cannot have things happen after certain times. you can be creative... but it isn't right.
-No BGM maker: same BGMs get very annoying after playing 10 or so RPGM games.
-No forks or Variables: This is possible to get around, but tough, and eats memory bad to try to do it the hard way.
-Only 500 switches and 200 items: Though the switch count is enough, the item count is incredibally low, especially since once you get to master the game, you will use items as some switches which can do things that would normally take 50 switches in 1 item.
Closing Statement
The game is great, but will definately test your creativety and patience. This is NOT for a novice gamer. RPG Maker also takes a long time to use. That's why people like me almost never finish anything (sports 4/7 days of the week, and work on 2 of the other 3) that doesn't give me too much spare time to use RPGM, especially when you ALSO have games like FFX and GTA3.
OK, Rant over.
