Dino Crisis
Review by pinoygamer
"Nothing beats the excitement and adrenalin rush of being chased by Dinosaurs."
A lot of gamers have been asking if this game surpasses the excitement and fun aspect of the RE series. Well, for me it does. Nothing beats the excitement and adrenalin rush of being chased by Dinosaurs or fighting it face to face then suddenly finding out that you've run out of ammos.
Gameplay - Capcom suceeds in eliciting the fun and excitement of a survival horror game again. Just like the fear element of the RE series, this time in Dino Crisis Capcom achieved this by using fast moving Dinos (faster than zombies) and giving you limited supply of ammos. Somehow this added to the difficulty of completing the game mission.
Story - You play Regina, the lone female member of a rescue team tasked to repatriate a mad scientist reported to be found in an island somewhere. Just when you have landed on the island via your parachutes, one of your team member was eaten by a T-rex. You and your two other companions were left to carry out the mission.
Audio/Video - Just like the RE series, Dino Crisis graphics are well done, actually a little better. The characters looks a litte more real than the RE characters. Even the Dinos looks cool and realistic relative to the characters you play. Of course how could Capcom elicit fear and excitement without the backround music. And in this game it comes at the right place and at the right time.
Replayability - Definitely, you have to play it again. Later on in the game you're given several options to choose to advance and one of this option determines the ending you are going to get.
To buy or to rent - Being an import game doesn't mean that non-Japanese gamers could play and complete it. The game is dubbed in English with sub-title in Japanese. If you don't mind spoiling the story and ending and could not wait for the domestic version. Go buy the game, but if you do, wait for the domestic version instead.
