Star Wars Episode I: Jedi Power Battles
Review by TheMatrixfish
"You will become a Jedi, I promise"
This Game first off, has nothing to do with the story at all with Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace. Of course the game evolves around a few of the levels in the movie. But other than that, this game gives away no story whatsoever. In fact the ending in this game is completey different than that of the movie. So if your looking for a game that is star wars and haven't seen the movie yet, then look no further than with this title.
STORY: There is no story(like in the matrix, there is no spoon, ha) Seriously though, this game has nothing to do with the story of Star Wars episode I. So this game fails in that section, which isn't necessarily bad.
SOUND: Just like in the movie. The lightsaber blasts are well done, and the sound effects of deflecting them are also done well. As for the music, it to is a classic.
GRAPHICS: The graphics are better than Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace for playstation. The characters are better designed also. The graphics are good overall.
CONTROLS: Remember how in the movie where Obi-Wan did a bunch of awesome moves, well in this game you can do exactly that. You can destroy droids with style. There are a bunch of long combinations to remember, but even with out the combinations, just slashing with your lightsaber and destroying every droid in your site is the best thing about this game. Deflecting light saber blasts with your lightsaber can also be done with ease. This game succeeds in this area.
ENTERTAINMENT: Its fun destroying 1000's of droids like they did in the movie. As a bonus they also threw in a few hidden characters, like Darth Maul, Padme, and Captain Panaka. You may not beat this game with every character, but you sure will get far. You can play as five different Jedis, among them all, Mace Windu is the best. His moves are awesome, I just couldn't get over this part of the game, its where it shines. When your done with this game, you'll feel like your a Jedi, or something along the lines of that. There is one part of this game that got me mad however, and that is jumping platform to platform, its hard to do, and is poorly executed.
FINAL: Even with all the great action and music, I still think this game is only worth renting. It has out done the Phantom Menace, but I only think its worth renting.
