Yu-Gi-Oh! Forbidden Memories

"A Good start to a fine dueling game."

As I first played this game, there were a lot of things that wasn't familiar. The characters were one of them. I never seen a simon muran in the show before. secondly, it was slightly disappointing to see that none of the cards have their special attributes like time wizard's time roulette and they didn't have certain magic cards like mystical box or magical hats. also, they should have added more cards to the game. Dark duel stories have more cards than this game. at least the creators should have matched the amount of cards in the GBC version. But since this is the first among the yugioh dueling games, it made a great starting point to what is yet to come.

Sometimes i felt like the duels were made unfairly such as seto using blue eyes ultimate dragon without ritual and having multiples of him. also usage of gate guardian without forming him using ritual was pretty unfair. Also sometimes the computer always get the card they want and that doesn't happen to the player. I had to duel the same person over and over to finally get the cards that i wanted.

There were some problems i want to acknowledge in the graphics during the battle sequence. It didn't look as cool as i thought it would be. in fact the only cards i thought looked cool in 3D was blue eyes white dragon, blue eyes ultimate dragon, and red eyes black dragon. They should have spent more time in this section of the game. I know PS1 can bring out better graphics.

Also if they were going to make the 3D battle sequence then i would have suggested to take out the 3D and add in 2D Animation similar to the anime. I know that PS1 can dish out 2D anime graphics. From what I've experienced, 2D looks better than 3D if the game is made from an anime. They should have also added FMV sequences or Anime cut scenes. The game is pretty much dueling. that is all you ever do in this game is duel. Nothing else.

Overall, this game is good for a while. BIG yugioh fans should get this. If you are not a HUGE yugioh fan then i suggest you stay away.

Just to let you know 6 is what i rate when the game is for only the fans should get.
