"N64 gets starfox, Saturn gets Panzer, PSX gets this, is it fair?"

For a supposed 3-D powerhouse system where is my kick butt take no guff 3d shooter? On the rails or not I don't care, I just want to fly around and blow stuff up!!! Now hopefully it's something as stylish, imaginitve and fun as the Panzer Dragon series. Or at least a technically sound and just all around fun game like star fox. What PSX owners get is Omega boost.

Graphics-
Call me crazy but I do love the graphics in this game. I've played it on my PS and on my pc w/ BLEEM and it one one sweet game! Things start off with some cheesy FMV which I skip because I just couldn't care. While Panzer and Starfox immerse you in their story, this game just throws one at you. Good thing the graphics rock. First off is your mech which is a solid piece of work. The little animation details are awesom, like the way his jet pack syncs with direction! Also the bosses in this game just keep getting more and more impressive. I love the stage 3 boss that is a huge ship and you actually have to take cover underneath it to survive it's attacks. The graphics are clean, a lil uninspired but have a great anime feel to them.

Sound-
COmpletely forgettable. I wouldn't say it detracts from the game but it's just noise to some good old fashioned carnage.

Gameplay-
Another saving grace of this game. Imagine a big box. I mean a HUGE box. You can fly anywhere within the confines. Good stuff. I hate it when things get too big and expansive, focus the action in central area like they did in this game. Next up we have all your standard controls, like spinning, brake, acceleration, laser locking and what not. The best part of the game is that since you have a fairly large room to maneuver and a good variety of controls, when things get hectic your on screen battle truly looks like a ballet of mech busting destruction!!!!

Overall this is a solid 8 as a game. Nothing new or innovative but fun as the dickens. If it had more style or uniqueness or anything to set it apart it coulda been a classic and as remembered as Star Fox or Panzer Dragon.
