Jersey Devil

"A game that has its ups and downs"

Introduction:

Jersey Devil is a comic super hero type game that takes place in the city of Jersey (a devil from this city being the main character in this game). Basically what happens in the game is that the sinister Dr. Knarf has plans for world domination, and he's created an army of nasty mutant vegetables to carry out his doomsday plot. That is, until he encounters the fiendish charms of Jersey Devil. This game is a puzzle/adventure game so if you don't like any of these types of games then you probably won't like Jersey Devil.

Review:

Graphics - (8/10)
This game has relatively good graphics for a Playstation game. I was pretty amazed at what they could do for graphics in this game. The intro video was great! Like watching an episode of a cartoon, except for it's not as long as a cartoon.

Sound: - (10/10)
The sound in this game was spectacular! Funny sound effects for almost everything you kill or hurt in the game. The monsters made funny sounds too!

Controls: - (9/10)
The controls in this game were well thought out, easy to learn and easy to use during the game play. Personally I loved how easy and straight forward the controls in this game were.

Story - (7/10)
The story is your typical, super hero saving the evil genius or bad guy story. But what made it different was that they added comedy to the story as well, that's what made this unique.

Game Play - (6/10)
The game play for that was used for this game is old, basically a rip off from Crash Bandicoot, or Gex. The game play is one of the down sides of this game. What made it not as good as some of the other thing in this game was that this type of game play has been used a few times before it. Although the game play they used is fun, it's something I've already seen and played numerous times.

Replay Value - (5/10)
I think you'll find that when you beat the game, your going to be done with it for good. Not a game that is fun the second time around. Probably due to the fact that this game is a puzzle game and puzzles get boring the second time through, unless your a big puzzle game fan, you probably won't find yourself playing this game a second time.

Worth the Money?
I think this game is worth paying for considering it is a good game to play every now and then when your looking for a good challenge, or if you want something to play on a rainy day. Although the replay on it is not very high, it still is a good game to buy, it's one of those games that are perfect for when you are bored.
