Resident Evil: Survivor

"I hope Gun Survivor 2 is better than this."

Ahh...Another Resident Evil game. You usually expect everyone to get creepier...and creepier.... and creepier! Well. Here's a review you didn't expect. A bad review for a Resident Evil game. Some say it didn't live up to RE standards (I agree). Others say that it was an awesome game! I'll try to give enough reasons why this is worth just a rent.

Story 6/10
All right...You can tell right away. This shares almost no plot connection with any of the Resident Evil series. Except our Hero is a friend of Leon S. Kennedy's (RE2), who is sent on a mission to investigate. Everyone seems to call our Hero 'Vincent' because our hero fell out of a helicopter and landed on a zombie infested island called Sheena Island, and suffered from amnesia and doesn't know who he is. Your mission is to recover your mind, and escape the island alive! Like I said, this got a 6/10 because if your looking for a plot continuation like the other Resident Evil series, this is NOT your type of story.

Graphics Give it your own rating.
Not bad. Not bad. The graphics use almost the exact same graphics as RE2. As well as most visuals on Zombies are exactly the same. I can't really comment too much on this. It depends if you liked the Resident Evil 2 graphics.

Environment 5/10
This I CAN comment on. The environment. Hmm. Average. It's completely vague. You can't really shoot anything other than the zombies or monsters. Things don't sound very well either. It's just a plain and horrible environment. Nothing surprised me in this game. Nothing .

Game Play 6/10
This isn't going to keep you hooked anymore. One game and you should be finished. It's not worth long hours. Consider you cannot even save! Was Capcom half-asleep while making this? The game play reminds me much of eating lunch.
First you take a bite out of your sandwich. Second you swallow the piece Third you wash down your sandwich with something to drink. Repeat this process. All right, pretty basic right? Why relate this? OK. Lets put this in Resident Evil terms. First you shoot some zombies, then you go to the next area, then you learn some story, then you fight more zombies. ETC. Do I really need to explain it? It's just...boring! It can't keep you playing long.

Replay Value 4/10
You're not going to want to play this too much. Well yeah, you can unlock things you always can in the Resident Evil series. Like a Rocket Launcher or something. Big deal! It doesn't keep you busy long!

Rent or Buy?
This game is worth getting rented at least once maybe. It's not COMPLETELY horrible. It's just lacking in many areas. If your a diehard Resident Evil fan (like me). Then maybe you'll want to buy this game. It's up to you and your liking to the Resident Evil series.

Recommendations
If you liked visuals in this game, and want something related in 3rd person. Get Resident Evil 2 . If you want another Gun Survivor game, pick up Resident Evil Gun Survivor: Code Veronica. that has characters we actually know. Either way, all the other Resident Evil games are an improvement over this.
