"The Director's Cut.Too bad all RE's had one of these."

The Director's cut version of the First Resident Evil is the 2nd Resident Evil i played.the first was Resident Evil 2 and that's probably how i got into the Resident Evil series.but ontop of that, the reason the Resident Evil series is popular these days is because of what happened in the first two Resident Evils in my beliefs.Allow me to explain.

In Resident Evil:Director's Cut,the story is like this:In the outskirts of a town called Racoon city, there are reports of people being eaten by people.Bravo team goes into find out what the cause of this was by helicopter but suddenly never returned.Alpha team heads in to find out what happened to Bravo team and find out just what kind of a mess Bravo team is in...

A little bit of a background of the Resident Evil's i played so far though.

In Resident Evil Director's Cut,i experienced not really a freak-out kind of a scare like in Resident Evil 2 when something pops out of a window it makes you jump out of your seat and scare you,but i get this feeling of a classic horror movie series that came to life again.the funniest thing is i loved feeling this.when i go through the mansion in this game with the music up loud alone at night i get this really big chill that i'm in the mansion and am a little creeped out by the music because it gives off a feeling that i'm in the mansion myself at first.after solving the game the feeling was still there for me until finally the feeling left after 6 or so more times of solving it.the monsters in the game ''Hunters'' are no exception either.playing the game alone with the volume loud fighting these monsters tends to give you a chill because they look scary, they scream loudly and in a chilling way,and they also attack in a horrifying and scary way.Hunters can jump and slash you which scares you because the hunters are so sudden! When they jump and slash at you they do it so quick it scares you.not to mention the part when you're weakened they do something so scary to you that i think i'll say no more about it here. All the other Resident Evil's after 2 seem to get along not so well after the first two because the fear theme has left the game.not to mention the future ones ain't as gory as before.

Graphics:10

Although your character doesn't slump when weakened and the characters show detail in their structure[chris's hair is completely flat while in future versions it sticks up.plus, the guns are blocky]the graphics of the monsters in the game and mansion were stunning! The joy of blowing a Zombie's head off is a thrill you'll enjoy alot.it's not only that, but taking the magnum and shooting their heads off or with a custom handgun is alot of fun.The graphics also have a problem with concealing items.the most basic items in the game are bright and light and almost don't give away their locations.it's so easy to locate items with this problem.

Sound:10

Zombie noises, the screaming of hunters, the creepy music, the sound of a zombie's head exploding...sounds bad,but to many people out there it's just music to their ears.fear is fasinating, ain't it?Especially when you're playing it.

Controls:10

Now i maynot have played Resident Evil 1 for the Playstation, but many people told me that the original didn't have an autoaim which made the RE's easier than the 1st in this one way.if there's anything i like to think about this game's controls is that they are very simple.Start for items, square to run,X to pickup stuff and R1 to aim the gun and at the same time,X to shoot.it ain't rocket science and it's very easy to use the controls.getting use to running around the screen may take time for beginners.but with just a few tries you'll master it in no time.

Story:10

The Story i wish not to spoil, but it's about investigating a series of incidents that lead you investigating the woods just outside of Racoon City and suddenly you're teams under attack and finds a mansion as they escape and are alone with your team mates in a mansion.

However, there's two different story lines to this game.Chris Redfield's and Jill Valentine's.

Chris is a new recruit on the team who meets up with Medic Rebecca Chambers in the game and Jill has her very-experienced partner Barry Burton. They both have their own story in the mansion. Many know though that Jill is the best choice though because she has 8 Item Slots, she finds a Bazooka and she gets Barry's help throughout some parts of the game in good situations.

Replay Value:8

It won't last forever, but the replay value for this is high because of the fun of finding everything in this game and the thrill of the game. You may have to beat this game 8-10 times until you finally decide that you don't give a damn anymore.

Buy/Rent/Neither

This game is a buy unlike the others because this one is long and diffulcult and has many multiple twists in it.Horror-type games are great and this one came with many things in it,however, this game will most likely take you a month to decide when you don't like to play it anymore.Renting it won't solve it in one day unless you play Training mode and know how to solve that puzzle that got me stuck as i rented it one time, lol.
