Destruction Derby 2
Review by Lagunathemoron
"Welcome to the annual Destruction Derby! We are hosting fifteen horses on a race course to battle it out! our a large number of cars..."
Have you ever imagined going on a race course at two hundred and fifty miles per hour, or for that matter battling around twenty other cars at two hundred and fifty miles per hour whilst racing? Well wether or not you answer yes or no to that question, you will most probably find this game a dissopointment. It seems improved over the last Destruction Derby, however it is worse.
This time the course are longer and look much better, but the cars are all a murder to control, after going at a slow or fast rate, you will pin out of control, hit the nearest canyon wall and then land upside down whilst the horrendus commentator is telling you that you're going the wrong way.
When I first started playing Destruction Derby 2, I was already above novice standard on the original game, but I had great difficulty in this game when going through a tunnel that your car can only just squeeze through and nineteen other cars are ramming the car boot open, you now seem to take ten times as much damage as you did in the first game, not only that it is just as hard to damage the other cars, not only that, keeping the right speed is frustrating enough, you need to keep your eyes on many different things are the same time. At least doing stunts and flips is fun...
Destruction Derby 2 looks much better then the original game, there is more detail on the cars and the track (although some of the starting cars are very ugly), the music is not that good this time and the worst thing of all is the commentator, he is very annoying with his non emotional version of 'TOTAL DESTRUCTION' or 'You're going the wrong way!'. Argh! He has to go!
This game is not as enjoyable as the first game, you are better off trying something much better such as V Rally or Grand Theft Auto, Midtown Madness and London Racer.
