"Monsters Fight, in a Measly Size"

Introduction
Micro Maniacs – Shrinks of Doom

Micro Maniacs features a small group of human, which have been shrunk to a measly size. However, they possess superhuman powers that are devastating against the other small people. Well, you get the idea. It’s like small people against small people with different powers of each kind. That’s basically the idea of Micro Maniacs. To determine who’s the best, the group races to the end, equipped with their own super powers…

Gameplay: 9
In Multiplayer, Micro Maniacs is definitely more fun than single player! However, unlike other games, Single Player is actually quite fun as well! In Single Player, you battle it out while advancing up, and up, and up. Until you reach the final level, you have completed the game. However, to unlock those special characters, you have to complete one entire row by itself. This is very challenging, as you cannot choose other easier laps.

Audio: 7
Other than the usual background music that can’t be noticed much, Micro Maniacs also have yells and screams from the fellow measly size guinea pigs. You can hear the boom of a mine, a burp from the monster when he just decimated the other’s head, and basically every other attack have a sound of their own. Besides that, there’s not much other music to note.

Graphics: 9
For a racing game, the graphics are pretty good. The monsters are done in detail, very cool to look at. In racing, you can see their attacks very clearly and some of them have side effects, obviously. I mean, you can’t run around in a straight line when someone just chewed off your head right? Also, the graphics are put to good use in maps of racing. In some maps, you have to take a specific route around the map. Like crossing planks, springing levers, climbing pens, and all that kind of thing. Also, there are dangers around the map. Stoves may roast you, dropping down means repeating from where you dropped. The maps are done very well, I must say.

Replayability: 9
As one map won’t last long, and you may die often, you will want to accomplish this game once and for all. Unlocking secret characters may boost your ego, and multiplayer definitely increases the replayability factor. Besides, you will also want to try out all the different characters available to you right?

Buy or Rent?: Buy!
If you are a monster fan, you may like this game. It’s pretty cool, kinda funny and best played in multiplayer. Beware however, it’s constantly irritating when you cannot complete the map or failed it, ‘Cause you need to get the Champion or Runner Up position to get to the next level. Also, you have a certain amount of lives different from other games which have unlimited lives. If you get a win in 3 straight rounds, there would be a bonus stage where you can earn an extra life! Cool eh?
