Digimon Rumble Arena
Review by Jerome
"The rumbling event (With Digimons)!!"
Note: This is my first review and contribution towards GameFAQ. If you find my writing stupid, please pardon me. Anyway, here goes the Digimon Rumble Arena review:
Gameplay: 8/10
The gameplay of the game is very good! Digimon Rumble Arena is something like the fighting game, Ehrgeiz created by Squaresoft, which allows you to run around and battle instead of the normal ''Street Fighter Style'' where you go head-on (Face to Face) with your opponent. Initially, there are 9 Digimons for you to choose but as time passes and the game is defeated with more Digimons, other Digimons (Stronger ones) will be unlocked. Not long, you would be able to choose 24 Digmons instead of the original 9! The difficulty of the game is totally up to you. There is a Easy, Normal and Hard difficulty to choose from. The controls of the game are rather easy to use and remember.
Story: 2/10
There is not much storyline or such included to this game, so I won't mention much. Basically, the motive about this game is to go around bashing up your opponents till you reach the final ''boss'' which is Reapermon. After that, the game just ends, without a proper ending, just the credits/staff screen.
Audio/Video: 10/10
The graphics of the games really ROCKED!! No jerky or crappy graphics, just great! The opening FMV of the game was really great too, with a mixture of 3D background and 2D characters. Well, I won't talk much about the introduction FMV anymore. Get the game and see the real FMV!! On with the music, the music is kinda' great too!! Every Digimon whom you are about to fight with has a ''theme'' of its own. One thing which makes this game unique is the speech which each character uses when they (you controlling them) wants their Digimon to digivolve. There would be someone saying the phrase ''Digivolution'' every time digivolving is in process.
Replayability: 7/10
Yes, it sure is worth it to play the game after you completed it once, why? To unlock more Digimons, of course! And I mean unlocking 15 more new Digimons!! The two player mode is good when all the other Digimon is unlocked!
To buy or to rent?:
Again, it depends on you... Here is what I think... If you intend to keep playing the game for a long time and you are a great Digimon fan, I advise you to buy it. But if you just want to play for kicks, and not intending on playing the two player mode, then just rent it, cause it's not worth it after you complete the game and chuck it aside.
