"The first game of the famous Captain Tsubasa in PlayStation!"

Introduction
This is the first Captain Tsubasa game made for PlayStation by Bandai in 1996. Looking at when the game is made, I think this is a good game enough for Captain Tsubasa fans and soccer game fans.

Gameplay 8/10
The control is easy to be mastered. However, to score a goal, you can’t easily kick the ball to the goal. You must perform special move to score like early CT games. To execute a special move, press R1 then input some buttons and end with square, triangle, or X. Some special moves needed to be done in certain places of the field. To perform the standard special move, just press L1 and R1 in a time then continue pressing both buttons rapidly until the ball enters the goal. To stop the ball with your goalkeeper, press L1 and R1 rapidly.

Story 7/10
The story started when Japan Jr. Youth is about to have a match with Germany Jr. Youth in France Jr. Youth World Cup. The story will progress to Shingo Aoi’s journey in Italy, Tsubasa in Brazil, RJ7’s appearance, and until Asia Cup Qualification. The bad thing is the most exciting part of Captain Tsubasa (in the World Youth Cup) isn’t in the game!!

Graphics 8/10
The graphic is good because you can see some cutscene from anime in the story mode. In-game graphic is enough for a game made in 1996 but of course improvement is needed. The special moves’ graphics are cool. If you do special move such as Tiger Shot, the screen will show a picture of a tiger. Cool, no?

Sound 8/10
The match’s music in the VS mode stays the same each time so the bad thing is here but in the story mode there will be some different music. The sound of kicking ball, referee’s whistle, and the announcer’s voice is good. The players’ voice is also different one to another while shouting their shots’ name. To hear each and every voice, go to the Sound Test menu in the option mode.

Replay Value 8/10
The story mode is easy to beat and only consists of 15 matches and you can finish the game in a day although the 3 matches with RJ7 are a little bit difficult. What makes the game is great is that you can train a team in the VS mode to gain more levels for your players and you can save your trained team. If you train some players, they will get new special moves such as Hyuga’s Raiju Shot or Santana’s Sky Wing Shot.

Features 10/10
This game can be played by two players and only needed one block for the story mode and also one block for saved team. There are 19 teams that you can use in the VS mode. From those 19 teams, 9 teams must be unlocked by finishing the story mode. The best team is undoubtedly Japan Youth and Dream Team. The special moves here consist of players’ original shots such as Tiger Shot, Drive Shot, Eagle Shot, etc. and new special moves that can be get by training them such as Soda’s Double Shaving Shot and Hino’s Salamander Shot.

Buy or Rent?
Because this game is marvelous for Captain Tsubasa fans, I advise you to buy it. If you’re not a Captain Tsubasa game, I also advise you to buy it since it’s a great game!! If you don’t trust me, rent it then.

Overall, I rated this game 8 out of 10. Hope this review helps you guys and see you in another review!!
