Captain Tsubasa: Aratanaru Densetsu Joshou
Review by quilava
"Captain Tsubasa game made by Konami for PlayStation with amazing graphics! A must for Captain Tsubasa fans!"
Introduction
This is the second Captain Tsubasa game for PlayStation made by Konami in 2002. This game isn’t like usual soccer game because this is a strategy game!! If you’re a soccer game fan, I think you won’t like this game!! If you’re not a Captain Tsubasa fan, it’ll be hard to understand the game.
Gameplay 8/10
The game is easy to understand but sometimes hard to be played. Through my research, I think an hour is needed for a match. If you want to pass, shoot, tackle, intercept, and do many other things, you must choose one from several options displayed. Some players have special dribble, special tackle, special shots, etc. and when you command them to use those special things, a picture or a movie will appear, showing the players do their special things. The picture or the movie appear in the match will be listed in albums that you can access by going to the option mode. Oh yeah, before a match, during the half time, and after the match, you can save the game.
Story 8/10
The story is based on the World Youth version of Captain Tsubasa. You start the game by battling Thailand then Mexico, China, and many others. You will have eight matches but you can take alternative routes in several occasions like you can have a match with Saudi Arabia first then China.
Graphics 10/10
Undoubtedly!! The graphics in the Card Album and the Movie Album are extremely cool!! Just see Hyuga’s Raiju Shot, Tsubasa’s Sky Wing Shot, Matsuyama’s Eagle Shot, and many more! Konami is the greatest in making the graphics of Captain Tsubasa game! And do you want to know what’s the most common picture in the game? The Fevernova logo!!
Sound 10/10
The music in each match is different and each music is cool! You can hear all those music in option mode. The sound of kicking the ball can be heard along with the referee’s whistle and the announcer’s voice can be heard like he’s talking spontaneously when you score a goal. Gooo~~~ruuu!!! It means goal, in case you don’t understand, LOL!
Replay Value 8/10
The first time you play the game, you will only have 11 players. How to get another players? Simple. Beat the opponents to get more players. You will meet some players that you can get before you start a match. But how to get all players although you have already finish the game? Simple again. After finishing the game, you will be asked to save the game. Do so, and then continue playing using your saved data and you will be started playing versus Thailand again but with the players you have got. There are 4 alternative routes you can take to get all players! Good Luck!
Features 10/10
This game cannot be played by two players and only needed one block for 3 data! The game is cool for Captain Tsubasa fans because the graphics are cool. However, you can’t change your players’ positions freely. Each player gets only one position such as Tsubasa is RMF and Hyuga is RFW. Another bad thing, you can only play using Japan. You can also get RJ7 players such as Yumikura and Urabe and you can also get Ryoma Hino!! I already mentioned above that to get another players, you must defeat another country but I haven’t mention that those players you want to get will join your enemy’s team when you fight them, such as Jun Misugi can be found VS Thailand and Kojiro Hyuga can be found VS Mexico. Got it?
Buy or Rent?
For Captain Tsubasa fans, this game is a must, so buy it. For non Captain Tsubasa fans, rent it because you might be disappointed.
Overall, I rated this game 9 out of 10. Hope this review helps you guys and see you in another review!!
