Final Fantasy Anthology

"Square has commited the Ultimate Sin....Ruining Final Fantasy"

Square in thier Infinite wisdom thought with thier pockets and decided to release 2 classic SNESGames onto the playstation...namely Final fantasy 5 (never before released and Final Fantasy 6 (Previosly FF3). The Result is a long, BORING remake of 2 games that were blazing fast on the SNES......

Gameplay 12/30- SLOWDOWN, SLOWDOWN. SLOWDOWN! I cant stand it..the encounter rate in both games is so ridicoulusly high to begin with...and then it remained untouched with Added loading time..I dont care how good the story is or how good the games were... if I advance though a dungeon 5 steps at a time with 5 minutes in between the steps...i am bound to curse, and throw controllers around....Its absolutley horrible.....

Graphics- 8/20- I know this is the SNES but the graphics are Pixeated as hell and it really gets on my nerves...Square should have at least tried to touch up some of the graphics to take away from some of the horrible pixeation (especially FF6)I just cant get deep into a game unless the graphics are ok..not great..but ok..Graphics are far more important than people think (anyone that played the PSX version of Shadow man know what I mean)

Sound-3/10 Here's squares Ultimate Sin...they leave the graphics untouched, but all the sound gets distorted and remixed....EVEN KEFKA's LAUGH IS SLIGHTLY ALTERED! DAMMIT SQUARE! Some sound effects I liked in the SNES were noticibly missing from the PSX version!

Value 2/10- After a few hours you will tire of the load times, slowdown, warped sound FX and graphics...Do what I did...sell this title and get some3 of your money back and take a loss.......

Everything else 13/30-Square added FMV to both games that you all welcomed to both games (But hate in FF8 for some reason????) this game was just too slow and boring for me....if you dont have an SNES I suggest emulation...it truly captures the experience of both games without putting up with the crap square gives us here...i was a sucker...dont let yourself fall into the same trap....

Do yourself a favor..pick up the best game in the series if you havent already...FF8 Overall- 38%
